Newsletter February 2025
You’re Invited
HomeAid Sacramento and Koinonia are thrilled to invite you to a ribbon cutting to celebrate the Koinonia Crisis Resolution Center (CRC) reopening. The CRC is one of the few emergency are centers in Placer County, and it welcomes youth 24 hours a day.
A recent roof replacement and interior repairs have restored the building to fully operational.
We hope to see you March 11th, 10am, at the CRC!
Adopt a Cabin Program at The Grove
The Grove is a 50 unit tiny-cabin community that provides emergency bridge housing for transitional-age youth (TAY) ages 18-24. The Adopt a Cabin program aims to make the cabins more comfortable and provide some functional elements.
Adopters can select their cabin(s), choose which improvements to make, and beautify their cabin(s) in March or April. Visit the program’s page for more details and to adopt a cabin.
Thirty-one cabins have been adopted to date. Click here to see which cabins are available.
If you cannot participate as a cabin adopter but want to support the program, consider donating to the BUILD Class of 2025 Adopt a Cabin fund. BUILD is adopting five (5) cabins and actively fundraising for this effort.
The Grove Ribbon Cutting
Thank you to all who joined us at The Grove on February 13th for the ribbon-cutting to celebrate the hardscape at the tiny cabin community. The hardscape was Phase 1 of the Adopt a Cabin Program and ensures that the cabins’ flooring won’t be harmed by dredge as they were during previous rainy seasons.
