Wells Fargo Partners with HomeAid to Tackle Homelessness in the Sacramento Region

December 10, 2019

ROSEVILLE – HomeAid Sacramento announced today its receipt of a $100,000 grant via Wells Fargo’s LIFT the Block program that will go toward supporting its ongoing work to build and renovate temporary, transitional and permanent housing for qualifying projects in the greater Sacramento region. The collaboration builds on the evolution of Wells Fargo’s philanthropy strategy, which includes a $1 billion commitment to address the housing affordability crisis over the next six years to address housing affordability solutions including for transitional housing, availability and affordability of rentals including multi-family housing, as well as sustainable homeownership.

“Our organization is humbled by the generosity shown by Wells Fargo,” said Beth Kang, Executive Director of HomeAid Sacramento. “We are excited that Wells Fargo has made such a significant commitment as we continue our work to fight the region’s growing homeless challenge alongside our non-profit partners.”

“Wells Fargo is honored to have the opportunity to play an important role in furthering HomeAid’s mission of building hope,” Kären Woodruff, Vice President of Corporate Philanthropy and Community Relations with Wells Fargo. “Homelessness is a humanitarian crisis and it cannot be effectively addressed unless we combine efforts to leverage our resources. By working with government, local nonprofit partners and our region’s homebuilders, the private sector can increase our impact.

The grant award from Wells Fargo will be used for several critical projects that HomeAid will complete and behalf of four of their local nonprofit partners including Women Escaping a Violent Environment (WEAVE), the Neighborhood Wellness Foundation, Women’s Empowerment, and Volunteers of America. The specific projects that HomeAid will undertake for these non-profit partners range from construction of a new security fence at a Veteran’s housing complex, begin work on over 30 unites of workforce housing and critical life safety repairs at a community center in Del Paso Heights.
