Onto Phase 2
The Grove Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Thank you to all who joined us at The Grove this morning for the ribbon-cutting to celebrate the hardscape at the tiny cabin community. The hardscape is Phase 1 of the Adopt a Cabin Program and ensures that the cabins' flooring won’t be harmed by dredge as they were during previous rainy seasons.
We are grateful to L&S Framing for completing the hardscape at cost, to Timberworks Construction for covering the costs, and to Rescue Concrete for consulting on this project.
Thank you also to Mayor Pro Tem Eric Guerra of Sacramento City Council District 6 who attended, and to representatives from the offices of Sacramento City Council, District 2 Roger Dickinson, City of Sacramento Council District 4 Phil Pluckebaum, Assemblymember District 6 Maggy Krell, and representatives from SHRA. We are grateful for their support of The Grove.
The ribbon cutting also marked the launch of Phase 2 of The Grove Adopt a Cabin Program.
The program aims to make the cabins feel more comfortable and provide some functional elements.
Adopters can select their cabin(s), choose which improvements to make, and beautify their cabin(s) in March or April.
Check out this short video of The Grove resident, Josiah, sharing what improvements he thinks would be helpful.
Visit the program's page for more details and to adopt a cabin.
If you cannot participate as a cabin adopter but want to support the program, consider donating to the BUILD Class of 2025 Adopt a Cabin fund. BUILD is adopting five (5) cabins and actively fundraising for this effort.
